French Desk Revival

What a very pretty piece I have to share this week. I found this desk at the thrift store, badly damaged. It took hours to sand and prep but it was so worth the effort!

The YouTube video is below, as well as a few pics to share. In short, I used the new line of paints by Dixie Belle, called Terra Clay paints. The paints are interesting to use. They dry extremely light and then go darker after sealing. To blend, you need to use a wet brush, or dilute the paint significantly. I really, really love this paint. It is a lot of fun to use, and I am enjoying learning a totally new medium to work with. It really is quite different from chalk paint, or any acrylic or milk paint.

Speaking of milk paint, I did just complete a gorgeous chest using General Finishes milk paint and I hope to share that project next week! You can see all of my work using different types of paints HERE.
