Leaving It As-Is

I spend a lot of time in thrift stores and over the years, I have scored a few great pieces. I typically paint and restore and throw them back out into the world to be used and appreciated for many years to come. Some finds, however, are actually perfectly imperfect and I don’t touch! Don’t get me wrong, I am sure they would look great with a lick of paint but in these cases, I leave them be!

I found this awesome old cabinet just a few months ago. I am leaving it as-is and keeping it as a drinks cabinet in our dining room. Love!

I scored this Art Deco dresser for free, also just a few months ago. It was abandoned in an apartment that was about to go up for sale and the realtor offered it to me. I saved it from the dump. Can you believe it?

My dining room is now pretty full of (gasp) unpainted, wood furniture! My dining room chairs were painted white ages ago, and I am still pleased I made that decision. It does break up the wood tones. I also purchased dark green velvet curtains that give the room another pop of color. It also helps that the room gets a ton of sun.

I scored the Hungarian Chest at a thrift store years and years ago. I have since sold it but you can see how lovely it was. It was brutal hauling it home but well worth it! I called it the Hungarian Chest due to the writing inside one of the drawers. Such a gem!
