We Bought an Abandoned Cottage and Its Property!

I mentioned last week that I had some exciting news to share soon and now I am free to divulge! We purchased the abandoned house that is located next door to our home in Secretary! It is SO exciting because the lot is gorgeous and holds so much potential.

Take a look at the video below. I had shared a quick video a few years ago on this property, but it has deteriorated even more since then. Do you all think it is a teardown? I believe that is the large consensus among our family and friends! The only thing that really worries me is the mold. However, the kitchen sink is to die for, (for real if the ceiling collapses on me as I’m trying to remove it) and next week I will share the front of the home, which includes a gorgeous old newel post that I plan to salvage.

I hate the thought of knocking this house down. As I walk through it (carefully!) I can imagine how life was at one time, and how pretty that kitchen was all those years ago. The yellow beadboard, the beautiful views and the amazing light it gets from the reflection off the water.
