Sandbar and Drop Cloth - Gorgeous Soft Neutral Color Makeovers

If you are looking for pretty neutrals, I have them for you! I just tried a few new colors (to me) by Dixie Belle Paints, which are named Sandbar, Dried Sage and Drop Cloth. They are very soft colors that create a beautiful and warm finish. All of the pieces below were completed for my client, Rose.

The first project was Rose’s dining room. Now, this is still a work in progress. I am almost done with the chairs and china cabinet, and I will share those when they are complete. For today, you can see the difference that the lighter color, Drop Cloth makes in the room. We kept the integrity of the wood, but added a lighter touch on the table and buffet.

The other projects that I just completed for Rose were a vintage dry sink and curio cabinet. Here are the “before” pics. I feel that the lovely glasswork was hidden because it was all so dark.

We decided on chalk mineral paint in the color Sandbar for the outside, and Dried Sage for the interior. They were all sealed in the Dixie Belle clear coat in the satin finish.

And here is the curio cabinet, also in Sandbar.

All pieces were cleaned prior to applying the paint and lightly scuff sanded. I then wiped them down and applied two coats for good coverage. I used a sponge to apply the clear coat and am thrilled with the result! I’ll will share those chairs and other cabinet soon!
