Pumpkin Spice Dresser

It is the perfect time of year to share this dresser makeover! The vintage piece was painted in the limited, fall color paint collection by Dixie Belle Paint. The color is Pumpkin Spice and it really gave this tired piece a new bold twist! I am so happy with the color choice.

The dresser started out in a very tired state with a ton of missing veneer. The potential was definitely there and I went to work with wood putty and sandpaper. This took about four to five times of filling and sanding to get the finish good enough to apply the paint.

After the filling and sanding of the missing veneer areas, I gave it a quick clean and then applied the paint. It adhered beautifully. I didn’t have to use any primer or other product, just the chalk mineral paint.

The details were sanded back and enhanced with gilding wax in Bronze. The hardware was scrubbed and put right back on. I love the vintage hardware on this piece! To seal the paint, I used a new product to me - Hemp Oil! It was so easy to apply. I just used a soft cloth and wow - talk about easy!

What a bold statement piece this once tired dresser has now become!
